I ordered two packs of super-bright CAN Bus sidelight bulbs a few days ago. The online ordering system was simple even for old git like me, I then received frequent emails confirming the status and progress of my order, the product arrived in a couple of days and they work brilliantly.
It's used in the Disco. If you plug the wrong kind of bulbs in the car electronics don't work properly, especially in failure modes; not all LED replacement devices will work in a CANBus-equipped car.____

We know, but if you bought from Hids4U, then you bought NORMAL LED's, suited for a D3

I've just ordered some of the LED sidelights for mine - knowing the Spanish postal system, they should be here before Christmas
As you've probably guessed, the sidelights are nothing to do with CANBus based vehicles.....some of the lamps on the D3 are powered by MOSFETs within the Central Junction Box (dipped/main beam, indicator and brake lamps) and the CJB can detect the lower LED current usage (with the indicator lamps) as being a blown bulb and cause problems - sometimes this will result in a fault code (DTC) being stored by the BCU....the faults are able to be stored and shared due to the CANBus system in the vehicle, but the actual CANBus standard is all to do with LED sidelights......although quite a few eBay sellers take advantage of this voodoo magic to make their products sound special.

Damn....I was hoping to sneak the second one past you too
I guess it's hard to see from a photo, but would you say that they are a lot brighter than the standard bulbs, or just a lot whiter? 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG
More noticable, but not sure I'd say brighter. More to do with the way you get multiple pinpoint reflections witht a very white light than overall brightness. I've got some and they're 8)I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
