HID for LR Driving Lamps??

Due to the amount of after market HID kits available, fo rnot many pennies, and the fact that the LR lamps are crap, anyone know whether a kit would fit them, or what bulb is in them?

Technically it would be illegal to fit HID bulbs to not HID lenses as they don't have the correct approval. They are starting to clamp down on them now and you can fail the MOT.

Better to get some used complete units off e-bay.

Not sure it would apply in this case as we are talking about driving/spot lamps rather than headlamps.

Ooops, didn't read that bit, probably not I guess as the lenses wouldn't have to be set up for road use.
