Hi, LRD3 owners! Please, help me a.s.a.p. |
|
I want to buy LRD3 TDV6.
Actually I own Honda Accord, which is really great car, never created me any problems and never broken. The problem is that now we have child and dog and I need something like LRD3. We have planned to travel by car (it is impossible with dog in Accord), incl. off-road ways.
I am quite decided to buy LRD3, but I found in the Internet a lot of owners claims about problems with electrinic in LRD3 and other technical problems.
As result, I can't decide. From one site there is only the the car I am ready to buy instead of my actual one. From the other site, I'm really afraid about menthioned problems.
Please, could you tell, is it really such a bad quality?
Is it really permanent problems with electronic in the car?

Oh, I forgot. I also own old (1995) Disco, ideal for fishing and light off-road, but not for daily using The car with spirit, but not for small child, wife and dog
But there are a lot of bad opinions in the Internet and I am happy to see something different.

The problem with the internet is that people seem to only post bad news rather than good. If you look up the competition on the internet (touareg etc) you'll also find plenty of bad reports.
I've had a couple of early issues with my Discovery 3, but generally it's been fantastic. Have a nice day!

Jamo, thank you, but it was really difficult to find good opinion of real users (except test drives organized by media). I prefer to listen real users, not journalists, because they are doing their work for money.
Touareg?
Oh, no.. never looked for... I'd better lift my Accord

Welcome to the forum Freelander..
I have the V8 petrol HSE and the odometer shows 71,000KM, I had some problems when I bought the car and they fixed it under the warranty, now everything is just ok, with the new models you should NOT have any problems.
I like my 8) '05 LR3 HSE V8 - Adriatic Blue - Larini Exhaust System - Lamp Guards - Dual battery system - Hidden 12k winch - Rasta Sump Guard

Thank you.
I do not want to buy new one and my idea is to buy used Disco-3, 2004-2005, diesel, SE, for about 35 000 EUR. I do not want loose 30-40% of money in a first year, buying new one
I hope all standard problems would be resolved by previous owner

I suggest you buy the 05' model, it's more refined than the 04' model.
If you where in Kuwait, you would be very happy to buy the fully loaded brand new ( V8 ) LR3 in only about 40,000 EUR '05 LR3 HSE V8 - Adriatic Blue - Larini Exhaust System - Lamp Guards - Dual battery system - Hidden 12k winch - Rasta Sump Guard

Only issue was with a airbag warning which resulted in the airbag been replaced. Otherwise great reliability and a pleasure to drive.
Off roading in France looking at war sites was a good test. comfortable ride for all 7 passengers.
