HELP!! Removing front bumper! |
|
At present removing the front bumper to put on some LR spots, got the grille and lights out trying to remove the trim from round the wheel arches, removed all expanders and screws and peeled it off from the back but the front wont come off, there are 2 toggle studs do they 'pop out or does the bumper somehow have to slide off them????
Help would be appreciated
Cheers guys!

There are a couple of screws from inside the wing that go into the arch trims, then the arches come out OK, on a T-shape clip so lift and pull. 2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

I got the trims and bumper off, there is a rubber/plastic flap in the way which vents air into the radiator but it doesnt tell me to cut it off so is there any reason i cant cut it cos it is in the way!?!?

I'd cut it off. I had to remove a lot of the plastic to fit my winch in there. 2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

Did you fit the original LR spots? ISTR they are a bit of a nightmare to wire back to the dash switch. 2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

Normally I don't strip the arches off to aid bumper removal.I just remove the screws from the inner wing and ever so slowly pull out the arch from the front leading, just edge enough to release the bumper.BKehoe showed me this simple trick , saves time.

How does that work cos you cant get the Torx bolts out the side of the bumper which is behind the arch trim? Time savin tricks are always useful!!!!

Yes , bring it to your dealer.I remember the thread vaguely , something about part of the harness/loom rubbing against a sharp metal edge or something like that.Did you try the search facility ?
