Sounds like they've tried to update the HDLF bootloader as part of the IDS session instead of using the nav.DVD to do it suggest you (and the dealer) refers to Wiggs suggestion

mmmm, just had a call back from the stealers, and what they are saying now, is after a chat with LR technical, they think my unit is faulty, so they want to swap this with another 06MY unit, do the download and see if it works.
If so, they will then order me a new unit, under warranty, but will now charge for the download - 2 1/2 hours, or £176.00 plus VAT - ouch!
