Hi....had trickle charger on for a few hours while snow melted....then when snow had gone tried to jump start car and it only runs fo a few seconds then stops and displays numerous messages....engine fault... HDC not availible...gear failure some gears not availible ( Auto ).....took ages for indicators to stop flashing.....left donor car running with leads connected for about 2 hours...then finally indicators stopped and have took jump leads off...will leave it for a bit while I grab some tea.....any ideas on why it wont run normally???

yep alternator knackered and not charging the battery, if the battery is older than 3 years, time for a new one TBH but get the stealer/recovery company to check the alternator first to see whether there is a charge going to it
still won't start reckon alarms been going off over night and flattened the battery!! good job got two year warrenty with road side assistance! they are sending technician out in morning!! thanks for the advice, will keep you posted!
Hi just a bit of a update....took 2 year warranty out which included recovery so rang them and a machanic came out and checked battery for voltage and it was fine ...ended up taking it in to stratstone Durham for a inspection.....rang tuesday to say a few faults showing and they checked the wiring which took 2 days...and they reckon ECU faulty and will replace on warranty.....1st one they reckon they have ever had to totally replace...also replacing Battery free of charge ( as only bought the car 3 weeks prior!! ) as its over 5 years old and can apparrently cause problems.....great service and communication up till now....also asked them to fit towbar wiring for our caravan and will pay for that while its in being sorted....told be ready Monday....fingers crossed.
