Help, fuel problem...
Hi Guys,
Having a problem with my 2008 Disco 3 Petrol V8. When going downhill offroad or breaking heavily on-road with a quarter tank of fuel the engine cuts out. It seems to be a fuel starvation problem. Has anyone else suffered from this problem? If so what was the solution? As always having more than a quarter tank isn't always practical.
Tanks in advance.
Regards,
Mark

The Discovery has a complicated fuel tank with separate pumps for the front and rear. Each of these pumps fuel into a compartment in the centre of the tank, providing a constant supply for the third pump which delivers fuel to the engine. It sounds as if your front pump might not be working although I would have thought that the central compartment should hold enough to keep you going for a short period of braking.

Thanks Dave, I'll take a look at the front pump then. Is it an easy job?

Sorry, I don't know how accessible it is. I have only read about it in the workshop manual.
