Put a new hub on so had to release the handbrake and it was seized solid had to chop into backing plate to release it , followed the rebuild procedures tightened the disc , 8 clicks back ,pulled the switch got the wurring noise for a few seconds then flashing h/b fault . Now got nothing no noise no h/b ild tool saying it's undefined need to fit new discs next week so I am wondering if it might play again when I fit them
Cheers

Ok perhaps if you could answer these few questions I might get a clearer pic of exactly where you're at!

1. when you say you fitted a new rear hub are you referring to the bearing and knuckle carrier?

2. Does either of the rear wheels rotate, or are they jammed?

3. If they do rotate, can you gear anything abnormal?

4. You say you had to chop into the backplate to release the handbrake, where exactly did you cut? where the HB cable enters the backplate, or somewhere else?

Chopped in where the cable enters the back plate wheels turn normally. It's looking like the emergency realise has activated and will not relatch so I think I will fit the new discs next week adjust everything as it should be then try to follow dm post on the Manuel release of the EPB module
In all fairness the rear discs are well shot
But I no longer have an overheating rear n/s hub

Is the outer HB cable still able to hold its position behind the backplate, or has it shifted into the hub due to a weakened backplate?

It's got a new back plate on so all good there
I am thinking maybe the cable has unattached from the shoe on the rebuild but it's not worth stripping until the new discs arrive .the problem has to be there once fitted will see if works without further investigation Thumbs Up
Thanks for your interest hopefully an easy fix haha it's a disco ,was hoping to just flick a switch and hey presto
Cheers

Yeah I was going to say something must have come off at the shoe, or expander slipped. No press button solutions on these babies. Once you stripp it it aill likely be obvious Rolling Eyes
