As per the title, I’m looking to buy my first D3. In the past I’ve had D1, D2, and Defenders so not new to Land Rovers. I don’t want a top spec as I won’t use all the toys or sunroof, my requirements are auto box, park sensors, air con and the best headlights that were available. Any ideas which model is best to go for? Also apart from checking the belts being changed any other pointers when looking?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Maybe an SE would suit you
2007 diesel models require oil pumps to be replaced.

Three types of headlight - halogen, bixenon and then bi-xenon with adaptive cornering.
Some of the early SE models came with xenon as standard but then it was made optional. All HSE models have xenon of some description, 06 onwards have adaptive I believe.
If you do get xenons, budget to replace the D2S bulbs as they probably won’t have been done before and new ones make a huge difference.
