Thanks for the reply Bodsy..I thought the gearbox needed more oil than 10 litres.. sometimes you have to wonder do the bods at the dealers know anything about the cars think I'll go with the Millersoil and get a local garage to do the work
I'll use the cash saved and get them to replace the Sump Filter aswell

Warren, the adaptive has as most say nothing to do with it. Had mine reset at dealers and it only made a difference on how the gears change, made it a little more responsive but did not remove the judder. You are in need of the flush, as I am too. waiting for 4 tech to start their mobile flush service. Maybe you could have yours done at the same time because he's from afar and it'd make it worth his while then. Current: D3 commercial
Past: but not forgotten D3 HSE x2, 5 TD5 disco2's, 1 200tdi disco1, 2 300tdi disco1 one of which was a commercial, Off roader with a rather large spec, ARB's and big travel suspension to name a few.

No, heard any reports about them ? Do your revs bounce between 1500 and 2000 rpm when accelerating slowly in a high gear ? The judder is very minor at the minute.

As I said on another post earlier, the mobile service is coming soon! Can confirm price is £190 + VAT, this uses approx 14 litres of fluid.
Please note Millers ATF is not fully compatible.

yep the revs bounce, but they bounce also when I start the car especially when in cold months. when I drive off thats when I get the judder. Stratstone in hanley are pretty poor. They had my car in to find out what this problem was. They told me No fault, also my compressor is noisey but they said it was normal, loads of things I took it in for they just told me they were normal. Customer service is no very good. Im 26 and it seem because of that they think they car treat me like . Not a good time had with them at all.
Anyway sorry to go off topic a little there.
If you find somewhere local that does the flush then I'd love to know. Current: D3 commercial

I saw a post a while ago which mentioned using the VW or BMW equivalent oil - used in the same ZF gearboxes as the D3.
The post said:
"The price for the VW and BMW replacement oil is half that of LR
VW/Audi part no. G052162A2
BMW part No. 83-22-9-407-807 "
Has anyone in UK tried these out - instead of Millers?
Cheers,
Rob

If Millers ATF oil wasn't fully compatitable why do they sell it as such?
Would also be interested in the bmw/vw spec oil if it is also the same spec as LR.

since it seems a common fault,is there any costant condition in which it happens....let's say
milage,use,year etc?!?
any issue for that?
I'm trying to prevent in any way that my D3 gets out of LR warranty without let them check for it!!
thank-you in advance figuring it out!!!!
the best feeling:getting airborne.

The same issue with the auto gearbox |
|
I'm having The same issue with the auto gearbox, some changes up/down are not that smooth. When changing gears (automatically and manually), just before the gear changes the engine revs gets up (in exaggerated way) and only than the gear changes. (it happens between 3rd and 4th gear). Car has done 150k in 5 years. I did a gearbox flush but the problem still occurred. Maybe the gear flash was not by the rules
