Hello from a newby
Hi All, Found your site while looking into buying the Discovery. We've had it a month now and are very impressed indeed. Dealer was not to bad although I am not happy about the Metropolis badge being missing off the back. No matter how many times I ring them they never seem to get it sorted.

Welcome! Have you filled in your 'how was the purchase experience form yet?" Funny that, the letter is still in the in tray. I also spoke to Land Rover customer services who said they would look into it but I have'nt heard anything as yet. Maybe Land Rover is running low on stock of Metropolis badges.Discovery 3 Metropolis Zermat Silver
They only made 300 Metropolis D3s you'd have thought they'd have the sense to get 300 badges made up too!
Is yours definitely a factory spec Metropolis, not one that the dealer has made up themselves? If it's a factory one I would have thought it would have a LRSV plate on it as the D2 Metropolis edition vehicles didThe End

Yes the thought did cross my mind. When I rang Land Rover and gave them the VIN number, they told me they did not record the Metropolis against a VIN number? If there is a way to identify it I would like to know more.Discovery 3 Metropolis Zermat Silver
I saw a pair of metropolis badges on ebay last week.....they were probably yours!
but seriously, metropolis badges should be affixed at the factory....wonder why yours weren't make sure its not a dealer spec-up2007 HSE Java Black.....sold

Good News, Land Rover confirmed the car is a Metropolis and had a go at the dealer for me. The badge is on its way and the dealer has provided a voucher for the LR experience. All good news in the end. Discovery 3 Metropolis Zermat Silver

No it does'nt. I did ask LR customer services if it should have but they said it dosent. They confermed the car is a Metropolis based on the VIN. Personaly I think that LR have decided to extend the number of Metropolis's available and authorised dealers to make them up from stock items. LR said that the badge does not come from parts dept but through the department that supplies publications etc. LR admitted that this was a little strange and that they had sent a bulletin to the dealers to advise them of this
