What in heavens name has happened?

I've been informed that the new name for A-Plan is Howden and that's not the only change!
This quote for the following vehicles just came through.....................Aghhhhhhhhhhhhh

D3 2007 - £831 , last yr £300; increase of 280%

Fiesta 2010- £476 , last yr £280; increase of 170%

No changes in circumstances whatsoever!
How can this possibly be for goodness sake?

Hi,

there are a number of threads already running about the same thing. Whistle

its the nature of insurance 1 year with one company the next year with another and the following year back to the first company Rolling Eyes

I have never insured our L/R's with AP as found better deals elsewhere
but I have just insured our Van with them as they were the best deal and Very helpful on the phone Cool Thumbs Up

they are an agent and can only offer what they can find for you, I have found every year you have to spend an hour finding the best deal, we were with NFU for a couple of years then their quote tripled.

the figures have just gone made this last year Exclamation

Have a ring around. Thumbs Up

Have a read of the other thread where Carlie from Howden explains the current state of the insurance market (from their perspective of course).

If your car insurance with any provider hasn't jumped this year then you're one of the lucky ones.

Blimey Shocked . I know it's not comparable but my vintage RRS went up £20 with Admiral. I'm obviously very lucky.

My Late 2015 D4 went from £550 to £1100 via Churchill. I tried my last insurer, Direct Line and they wouldn't even touch it. I looked into fitting a full-on Thatcham Tracker/Immobiliser but Churchill said it wouldn't affect the premium (ridiculous) so there's no point buying one. I did buy a huge pedal-lock by Adrenalin instead of a Disklok that the missus couldn't have got on or off without damaging herself or the Disco:

https://adrenalin4x4.co.uk/shop/ols/produc...pedal-lock

It comes with stickers which don't say, "Look into the footwell you bell-end" (unfortunately), but do say 'Pedal lock fitted', so fingers crossed the crims will at least look through the window before punching it out. My keys are in faraday pouches and i've disabled keyless entry. If they can cut through that bad-boy with a battery grinder without waking up the whole street and setting fire to the inside of the car while they are about it then there's not much more I can do apart from shoot them up the bracket with a catapult while they are bent into the footwell...
