I’ve just driven back from Glasgow, via Inverness and was surrounded by snow covered hills and mountains almost the whole way. The drive took 6.5 hours and the outside temperature never rose above 1 degree. The cabin was warm and toasty the whole way with the dials set at 23. Even had to open the sunroof at one point as it got too hot in the sunshine!
How is this possible in a MY14 D4?

NC500, I just read your last two posts.
On my MY16, I cannot make any manual over rides (ie vent preferences or fan speed preferences). As soon as I do that it will come off auto. Auto on mine, needs to own everything ! Sounds different to yur set up.
CheersGary

Gary P - you have to come out of Auto. Staying in auto is the problem.

Hi NC500.
OK understood. I think that proves Auto doesn't work.
In some cases people have reported that manual operation is problematic too, so count yourself lucky.

this is how i run mine now and i get a reasonable cabin temp on long runs with no icy blasts out of the dash vents and scorched feet syndrome
the flow from the dash vents does cool down as cabin temp rises but its a lot better than before , its just ridiculous to have to do this and they cant software mod the auto to work as pre MY14
AC on or off is optional but i prefer off but it might heat quicker in th morning if on

Mark the Spark - that is exactly how I run mine. It is not ideal but at least it makes for a comfortable cabin. Good idea to share the picture showing the settings 😉

I suspect that it’s more that they can’t be bothered to sort the software rather than they can’t. After all they succoured us into buying the things and in good old UK fashion, they’ll hammer us whilst they can but aren’t clever enough to realise that repeat (and repeat) customers keep them going!

Well guys, here is my response from Autoexpress:
It seems that Watchdog and Autoexpress are not able to help - I am now considering trading the car in and taking JLR to small claims court for the loss as it is in negative equity on its PCP. I would look to recover a percentage of the deposit (for the time left on the PCP) and the negative equity at the point of trade in. Such a shame that JLR are in denial despite all of us who are affected.
I am seeking advice right now on my best options.........silly isn't it as the car is under warranty until September !!
