Heated washer jets
hi
after today with the snow , it reminded me i must fit some heated windscreen washer jets
reading i see the D4 are the ones to get , part number LR048615
just got to sort some wiring out as mines the base model and haven’t got any associated wiring looms
been looking on the parts diagram to find extra looms etc i need , it was just where to connect them into i was unsure of , do u think wiring it into the heated mirror circuit would be best plse
also wondering if i should buy the discovery 4 washer jet wiring or get the D3 , just can’t seem to find it on the LR cat parts diagram
thks as always

I consider these a waste of time tbh.
Anyway, are you sure it's a seperate loom?
The piping is all part of the main wiring in these cars!!
Check yours isn't wired already

Hi Pete
many thks and you’ve got a good point there if it’s part of the main loom , suppose i should never assume things, been looking on the LR cat parts for ages
i’ve looked behind the bonnets insulation and nothing is there , can see from the wiring diagram it does indeed go into the same circuit as the heated mirrors
which i expect would involve lifting out the engines fuse box to see if anything’s been connected on the back , if the req connector is needed of the tails so to speak are there ???
certainally don’t mind doing the work and does indeed drive me nuts when the jets keep freezing up and would be really nice for the first time to have heated ones
had wondered if anyone else may have retrofitted heated jets from scratch
thks again

Heated washer jets are brilliant. When I drove yesterday, the bonnet was still covered with snow, the screen wash jetted through the snow no problem! Richard

emailed a few breakers but alas still not got a reply , unless it’s not something that’s in demand
still hunting for the part numbers and can’t find it on LR cat on D3 & D4

make sure you keep your heated screen on though as my D4 heated washers on the front worked fine but the water frooze when it hit the screen. D4 HSE Lux MY16 Club Waitomo

it’s the actual loom i’m after that plugs into the heated washer jets
as mentioned i think it’s part of a bigger loom, spent hours trying to find out what loom it’s part of
can see it plugs into the heated mirror circuit , know all base models have heated mirrors so at least i’m 50% there

I thought all D3’s had them?
hi
indeed all D3 have heated mirrors but not heated washer jets for the windscreen
spent hours on this and will find out in the end

another thought i had was about if i could piggy back the heated mirror circuit from inside the fuse box
( fuse 12E) then run new wires up to the heated washer jets ???
or lift out the fuse box and connect at the back i think would be more favourable , but then it will be what type of connector
but would indeed have to do some more digging ref this loom , can then of course others will know if they wish to retro fit them to base model
another thought , yeh i know , i don’t have a heated windscreen but the wires are there as i’ve seen them on the A pillars inside , just got to establish if when pressing the heated rear screen if it sends power to these heated screen connectors , just thinking of options ????
but can always do with all the help i can get plse

If you look at the heated jet fuse, if it has 2 metal contacts then there must be a wire that goes somewhere! (not that it helps much)
If there is only one contact, you know no wiring is present.
Did you miss this?
Don't consider window heaters.
I did think of a fuse piggy back, but don't think you would get the cover on???

Instead of heated jets, consider using a window washing fluid which doesn’t freeze - not just water;)
Either don’t dilute the stuff at all or read on the side of the bottle for the ratio of wiper fluid to water for a specific temperature. Works great.
