Also be aware the seats don't magically get hot the very second you switch them on. Mine take 2 or 3 minutes before you notice heat and then a further few mins to get to full heat, so do give them a chance if you haven't already. Thumbs Up

Note to self: Don't overthink something. Keep it simple Laughing

Just follow the wires obviously. I'll take another look at them on the weekend and report back.

Start with the drivers (off side) seat seat base it can be removed quite easily, four torque screws hold it down, put the the seat at max height and rear before you start, beware of the cables underneath when lifting it out as they will need unclipping, with a cheapo meter you can then test if you are getting power to the heater elements.
A 1/4" or 3/8" ratchet with a torque bit is best as you are limited for room with the front screws and be certain you have got the right size bit in as the screws strip very easily Thumbs Up

You might even be able to follow the wires to the junction box under the seat without taking off the base it’s only about a foot. Test contanunity/resistance on the heating element as well.

I doubt it, but worth a look, it is difficult enough pulling the sockets out with the seat base removed as access is limited on electric seats, far easier to just remove the base.
The main feed to the seats is easily accessed by pulling with great force the front plastic cover (behind your heels when you are sat on the seat) forward and off, it is held in position with one 6mm stud in the center of the plug.

you need to note the seat has an airbag and pretension it in. These are on the orange and yellow connectors of the main seat plug.

If you undo the multi plug its possible to leave a fault code. (maybe ok if the ignition is left off)

There are 2 connectors In there for the heated seat.

2 green wires for the sensor.
2 power wires for the element. black and maybe green/???

They are spread across the 2 connectors.

I'm revisiting this post because there has been a development!!! An odd one at that!!!

I've done nothing about the heated seats other than look at cables etc as per previous advice given on here and that was weeks and weeks ago.

Well anyway, yesterday I accidentally hit the heated seat button when I was changing the heater controls and to my surprise my seat started heating up, albeit my left ar&e cheek got a little too hot for my liking to the point where it started to burn and I had to put a cloth down on one side of seat but I think that has more to do with condition of the cushion than anything else. I tried a few times and sure enough the seat was working so I tried the passenger one and that too, though not as warm seemed to start heating up.

I tried again this morning and nothing again.............so what is going on.

Anyone got any thouhts on that please?

Sounds like a faulty relay to me - if it was one or the other I'd say there was a wiring fault, but that'll probably be the case.

FYI when you get in, hit the button and the two lights will light up. After a while (and I'm sure the delay varies) the seat will knock down to a single light. You can jump straight to that with a double tap on the button.
