Did the seats ever heat? I ask as I have put leather heated seats into my D3 but haven’t wired them up yet I put in the HEVAC and all the lights light but the physical wires are missing from the back of that to the footwells. Have you looked under the front seats to make sure they have the wires for the elements.

I have an 05 S.
Mine heat up lovely
But were they standard in an "S" variant? If things were meant to be easy, then I will soon complicate them....
Please note...
Anything I say is only from my personal experience and knowledge..
I don't assume to know everything, and know there is a lot I don't know..
But then I could be talking .. O

I have no way of knowing that but I would have to assume so. The vehicle has been very well kept so I can't imagine it has ever been butchered so as to be able to install the heated seats.
I've doen some more research and I'm still leaning towards a relay. I'll try that tonight and report back with my findings. Cogito ergo sum!

Right then. I haven't a clue which relay to swap/test. Wiring diagram says relay R211 is in central fuse box. But the R numbers on the diagram on back of glove box don't go anywhere near that high.
Anybody know which one I should be looking at please? Cogito ergo sum!

A relay with a high number like that will be part of the fuse box and can't be swapped out.
Interesting that there is a relay though. Need to test its output to see if its good.
If it is at fault I'm sure a work around can be created.

This tells me there is one but I have no idea how to test in that case if it cannot be removed. Cogito ergo sum!

looked the the diagram.
Need to get yourself a test meter on volts, or test lamp.
Turn the ignition on.
Put one lead on a good earth (battery -)
And probe the heated seat 25A white fuses under the bonnet.
If you get power, the relay is good
If no power check fuse 28 behind glovebox

That sounds like the reply I was waiting for. Have a multimeter here. Will give that a try tomorrow and report back with my results.
Thanks. Cogito ergo sum!

The investigation continues. Power at both fuses under bonnet and at number 28 under dash. All fuses good and all connectors seem to be in place.
The only thing I didn't try today was a battery disconnect to attempt a reset.
I bet the solution is really simple and probably staring me right in the face. Cogito ergo sum!

humm.
As I mentioned previously, I would recommend you fault find on the rear seats, as its much easiser to see what's going on and work on.
Once you have cracked it, you should be able to resolve the fronts
If you live the rear base up, you can see the control unit.
I see you can turn the rear ones on without the engine running

Did you ever get this sorted??
Changed my seat base foam tonight and put the new heated pad on that I've had kicking around for a while, sitting warmed and comfortable on the test drive, quit surprised how much better my sitting position is with a new foam base under my buns! Must stop buying shiny toys....

Darrind no still not working.
Before I buy new heater elements though I need real convincing that they are the problem particulary as none of the seats work. If it was just the one I'd maybe be a bit more convinced. Cogito ergo sum!

Have you power going to the seat elements? Is there power at the connection under the seat when the switch is on?

Not tested for that. Which connector pins should I be testing? Cogito ergo sum!

Follow the wires!!
Follow the wires coming out the hole in the centre of the seat base to the plug under the seat.
