Heated Rear Screen

Hi All

Noticed tonight that the heated rear screen is not turning itself off, I'm sure it used to turn off after about 10 mins ?

Wired blackvue into fusebox behind glovebox at weekend and had pass side boot panel off to trace a rattle , have I dislodged something in the process ? Embarassed

Not a big issue just annoying Confused

The rear window heater is controlled by the ATC module (the same module operating the climate etc). As stated on TOPiX:

Quote:
The ATC module operates the rear window heater in heating cycles of varying power and time. The heating cycle used depends on the ambient air temperature and whether it is the initial or subsequent operation during the current Power mode cycle.

The time period varies, but is between 10 and 20 minutes. If ambient temp is above 5 deg C, the first cycle is 10 mins (of high power) followed by more cycles. If this does not work for you, I'd guess you've either messed up with the rear window battery power feeds or there is a more complicated issue. I'd recommend you check that again, as the rear windows heater is very power hungry, so should not stay on for too long, or you may easily drain your battery.
