Headunit won't accept CDs?

I met a D3 owner today who, along with the coolant level warning issue, has a problem getting the headunit to accept CDs.

I tried it and although the unit was empty, it felt like I was trying to put a CD in a 'normal' car CD player which already had a disc in - the disc definitely wouldn't push in and the player had no intention of taking it Confused

Any one else come across this, or is there a knack to putting CDs in?

Vehicle is an SE with the 6CD changer if it makes a difference.

Ta! Smile

Was it displaying 'insert disc' when you tried?

either the transit screws were still in or they didn't push the relevant CD number and wait for the 'insert CD' prompt on the IHU Wink

Think so - I pressed eject, it said "No CDs inserted, press 1-6" (or similar) so I pressed 1. I think it then said "insert CD" and I tried, and failed Thud

What's the correct procedure oh wise one?

That sounds right so as TFC says transit screws are still in place or it's stuffed, either way it's a trip down the dealer

Press a cd number, then wait for "Insert CD" message, then insert it. Could not be any simpler really.

Did you recruit them boss?

I had exactly the same problem. It went to the dealer who apparently added a software update. This seemed a bit odd, but I do not think it was transit screws, as I bought the car second hand.

I think its poorly designed - and confused me to start with!

I better set up would allow you to insert a CD (as long as one free slot is available) and after you pushed it in, it then asked the question "Which CD slot?" and THEN you press the CD number on the pad.
