Anyone noticed that the headunit does not like 'home made' CD's?
I was listening to my own DIY CD - you know - all my favourite tracks burned onto a CD from the PC. About half way through, it started to play strangely, then it wouldn't eject.
'CD Error' message appeared and the whole thing locked up. I couldn't get the CD to work at all and I resigned myself to the radio until service time.
For a couple of days I was frantically pressing 'eject' at every oportunity with no result, then, on the third day, the CD popped out.
Only genuine pre-recorded (purchased) CDs from now on.......
I did read in the manual that the unit doesn't like (purchased) CDs with video on them, but it looks like home-made jobs go on that list too.....
I make my own MP3 cd's. No problems at all.
Hopefully this was just a dodgy one off.TDV6 SE auto, Java / Alpacca

You didn't stick one of the home made CD labels onto the CD? They have a habit of 'peeling off' in the drive... not goodSteve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Sounds stupid when you first read it - then I remembered those silly credit card sizes ones you can get free on breakfast cereal packets!Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

round isn't a shape though is it? I think circular is though....
I have 6 x MP3 data cd's with upto 140 tracks each, never had a problem.
Perhaps it is a sign of getting older, but my 'technology progression' seems to have stuck in the late 90's. My home made CD's contain less than 20 tracks. How do you do this MP3 thing?
I don't have an iPod, MP3 player or even a DVD player in the car - or at home!!
I run Windows 98 and have never seen Pop Idol or Big Brother.......
Maybe I'm better off living in the past.......

Yeah, perhaps you had better stick with it JMC
Let sleeping dogs lie and all that!
Seriously though, I have all my music stored and indexed on my server at home. When I buy music (buy= download cos' no need to buy CD's anymore) It gets burnt to CD or downloaded to Ipod as required. If the D3 had a decent 'pod dock then there would be no need to burn cd either.
