Right, I can confirm that the headlamp wash needs to be switched on in the CJB - but other than reprogramming using IDS (dealer tool) there's not a simple way round it Crying or Very sad
The alternative is to rewire the relay in the CJB to only operate when the lights are on - but that colud be expensive on screenwash Rolling Eyes

Cheers TFC - I'll have a word with a tame LR technician and see if he can help. failing that I'll probsbly go down the rewire relay route.

I'll no doubt be back in contact.

Thumbs Up

I *think* the IDS route might require an engineering code - my own tame LR tech is out at the mo so can't check on that one! Wink

Shocked

Nick's also looking into it so we have a 1 in 3 chance of getting something back tomorrow - if all else fails, I'll be rewiring the relay on the weekend - with your prior guidance of course Bow down Bow down Bow down

Thanks to 10forCash I now have working headlamp washers (retrofitted). In the end didn't go down the route of trying to get a IDS update done as that would only mean paying the stealers loads of money - and possibly not getting anywhere if a code was required from the factory.

Instead I spend a few hours re-wiring the existing R12 relay to take a feed off the lights and screenwasher pump. Result ! Thumbs Up Thanks TFC Bow down

In case anyone else feels this adventurous (or foolish, I'll leave that to you) and isn't a electrical wizard like TFC, below is the wiring diagram I drew based on TFC's destructions:

Just to be clear, on the existing relay, also cut the existing feed to connector 2 before connecting that to 87 on the new relay. Remember to avoid any shorts, insolate the cut ends of the original, now un-used wires.
