And I still haven't really worked out yet whether the stalk is faulty or not.
It will probably be cheaper to go for anger management sessions before buying a new one! Andy

I may be green around the gills, but the D4 stalk should only lock forward and the high beam should not stick on when pulling it back.

Mine does the same - flash your lights, then later the auto lights come on and your on full beam. haven't been bothered to work out why it does it, maybe the spring action is too strong and on occasion can pull the stalk past the off position and into the on position?

Glad I am not alone, as starting to think I must be imaging it and somehow pushing the stalk back after flashing the headlights.
I have got as far as finding out a new stalk is just under £150 from Duckworths, but it needs to go in for some warranty work, so might be able to get it done via that.Andy

The technical term for pulling a switch the same way to switch it on and then to switch it off (like the cord on the bathroom light) is TOGGLE. Toggle on and toggle off.

Possibly a daft and obvious reply - do you have auto main beam turned on? Reading through your posts it looks like you flash the lights and later, when the auto-lights come on, they are on main beam.
On my MY10, I toggle the auto main beam using as pull of the lever back toward the wheel.
Just a thought and, in the spirit on the silliness, I'll now get back on my perch.
