happy with MPG
I didnt buy the 2 Ltr for its economy, thats just an added bonus, but even driving like miss daisy I only rarely got my D4 into the 30's mpg on the lie-o-meter, (so in reality high 20's as it typically read about 3 MPG higher than what is was doing).
So my D5 is now quite regularly high 30's and on a resonable run with some shorter journies mixed in:

Even with this also lying by about 2.5MPG its still a darn sight better than the D4 ever did. I know some folks are saying the 3Ltr in the D5 is also a good bit better on MPG as well.

but I've never had (or wanted) a Freely, so no point in me comparing my D5 with one

Al
That dash looks terribly busy and the lettering seems small to be reading while travelling, nearly as distracting as using a phone while driving, the oil pressure gauge is still missing. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

the nice thing with the D5 is you can have loads of different stuff on the dash, 1 dial, two dials, your nav, media - its your chioce from the menu buttons. I have gone for this and it does look a little blurred in the pic - it is however fine and clear for driving
There is extra info showing as I had cruise set (the info in green) the speed limit detected for the road I was one is also displayed.

The digital dash is crystal clear in real life, I don’t have mine set to trip summary, I have the media screen as some of the album art brightens the dash up.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

On a run yes used to get about 40mpg myself but overall avg on 20k was 28.33 which was slightly worse than my Landmark D4 over 33k
Short journeys just kill mpg on Landrovers and Landrovers are all very optimistic in the mpg computer figures, probably knowing that most people take it as being fairly accurate, though seems VW volvo and skoda are able to provide a pretty accurate readout compared to real life mpg.
So Al any idea what is the underlying avg figure for yours D4 Landmark MY16 Santorini Black THE LAST

average seems to be around 30/32, with trip comp/lie-o-meter showing 34 even bumping around town. This is way better than my D4 did, as around town was typically low 20's. And even towing the same 'van it seems better at 24 compared to the D4 at 19 to 20.

A welcomed improvement as fuel prices on the up again, my first RRS 2.7 averaged 23mpg and first D4 (6 speed) 23.5 mpg so well over 40 percent improvement on economy over the yearsD4 Landmark MY16 Santorini Black THE LAST
