Off road trip to the Aussie bush.
Pulled up and engaged HB and ............you guessed it handbrake failure.
Only occurs in low range, not high range.
Got home, reversed car into garage turned off ignition..................car engine still going despite removing key from ignition and all lights in car flashing, dials going crazy and sat nav on and off. Inserted key back in.....car turns off and no problems.
On the way home new years eve, get pulled over by the police................instructed to step out of the car and marched to the back of the car.....................the constable point to the rear roof brake lights going on and off like an ambulance/fire engine..........fortunately no tickets.
Took the car to the dealers, no problems on the diagnostic computer.
Drove off, pulled over and switched to low range and HB faulted again.
Returned to the dealers...........no idea why it is happening.
Anyone else able to help?

I am not entirely sure if it can be engaged whilst in neytral as a HB failure warning comes up anf i have not tested to see if it will roll, i guess now that you mentioned it i will test it out.
