Hand Brake Creep/Movement

When parking on a hill and applying the handbrake I seem to have developed a small creep/movement, which can be a bit worrying when parking near another car

There is a noise like a spring when it does it. Its as if the rear discs are being allowed to rotate slightly

My rear brakes are almost gone, and I've got some new discs and pads ready to be fitted

Question is, does the hand brake just need adjusting, or do I need to order some new shoes to be fitted at the same time

Car has done 108k, and to my knoledge not had any new shoes fitted previosly

Thanks

Ade

Warning signs that your EPB will need adjusting - it will start to scream shortly and will NOT engage.
