Halogen headlights - MOT Fail?

If you upgrade the bulbs with Halfrauds +90% lights will they need to be changed back to standard for an MOT?

I can't see why they should so long as the beam pattern, alignment and light colour is OK.

The Q&A's on this lamp indicate that they should be Thumbs Up

Q: Are these bulbs legal for UK road use? And will they be fine when put through an MOT?

Blue,

Are they noticably better and worth the switch? Pauper that I am, I have halogens and really want to improve the performance without switching to xenons. Would you recommend the change to these new bulbs?

Same situation - yes they are worth the change - but they do degrade after a while - I replaced mine after a year with like for like and was amazed at the change - they had clearly 'gone off' over time (No idea on how or why this would be) and only noticed when I changed them back.

But in terms of upgrading the headlight and main beam, then replacing say every year, plus the chance one will blow and you should replace both at the same time..... as opposed to getting some Xenons on here for around the £200 mark (Which can be done)..... not much in it?
