hmm... It looks like these must be new because these tires come in the 255 60 19 but are not XL and they also come in the 255 65 18. which is the size I want.

Agreed re new, 255 55 19s not on the GY website. Looking at the alternatives to Pirelli ATRs which seem to be a dying breed.

Like to see a pic when available. I'm in the market for new tyres and am torn between Good Year AW HP and Pirelli ATRs both in 255 55 19.2014 MY Discovery XS Indus Silver. Sadly gone. Second last LR of forty eight years continuous ownership.

Conti not so good in the penetration stakes though:
Quote:
While the BF Goodrich tyre required 196.6 kPa of pressure before the sidewall was penetrated and the Goodyear tyre 176.6 kPa, the category wooden spoon went to the Continental CrossContact AT, whose sidewall was punctured at just 110 kPa.

The new Conti ATR isn't the same as the AT though:

True but it's rather possible the Conti ATR is similar to the Conti AT in the sidewall. After all, the ATR is more road than the AT so unlikely to be better in off road penetration.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

Perhaps, but that's speculation until the new Conti ATR has been tested in the real world and "Improved Durability" is one of their key points.
Although of course Continental own General Tires and Grabbers don't exactly have a good reputation for sidewall strength.
Either way, more choice is always a good thing. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE
