Not sure I have entered this one in the right category but I just wanted to sing the praises of the above dealership. Often it is too easy to highlight those dealers that fail to live up to expectations.

Anyway working in Wakefield for a few weeks I decided to forego the usual visit to either of the Str*tst*n*es near where I live - mainly due to the £120 price difference for a 45k service but also because of the professional way my enquiry and subsequent booking was handled by Guy Salmon.

A courtesy car was provided; a new 2007 Disco S - 397 miles on the clock (vs the 4 year old focus provided by our friends in the South). I had provided a list of issues prior to the service date and was pleased to note that Scott Hampton (Team Manager at GS) had taken the time to order in or reserve any potential parts required - these included a new expansion tank ( car registering low coolant when at normal temp although cooling system was full) and a new rear height sensor (registered a suspension fault at low speed/ stationary). I also had asked that the geometry on the car be reset due to uneven tyre wear as per the appropriate TSB (my car was within the VIN range quoted therein). However LR initally baulked at this as my car had covered more than 10k miles and is more than 18months old. I was quoted £212.75 plus vat to complete this work - however a call to LR Customer Service from me backed up by one from the dealership - resulted in this work being completed under warranty.

In addition to the above my locking wheel nuts were replaced foc as was a faulty brake light and the car was sorted within the day. During the whole operation I was kept informed (2 phone calls during the day) and cannot speak highly enough of Scott and the team at Guy Salmon Wakefield.

First Class!!

Hi Winnie6024,
I have had a very similar pleasant experience with GS at wakefield. Scott dealt with me also and as you mention I was kept informed all along. He also fitted new locking wheel nuts (must be a thing for nuts that they have Very Happy ) and even fitted some side protection strips that I supplied FOC.

Well done Guy Salmon Thumbs Up

My car is currently in for other work, so I am hoping the same excellent service will be repeated, fingers crossed then!

I have just bought a new pursuit from Guy Salmon inThames Ditton and have also had a very good experience, Simon the sales manager has been very eager to help, so well done and hope that it continues to get the various bits and pieces fitted, and through to the first service.

Does anyone know how to download phots onto your own gallery bit on the page?

Cheers

Malcolm

I've just bought a 58 plate SE from Guy Salmon Stockport and the service to date has been fantastic. Every member of staff I've had contact with (sales, finance, car-preperation) has been fantastic, and so helpful. Speak to Rod Sproson (senior sales), fantastic bloke who is great to deal with.

Would highly recommend them.

Darren.

GS wakefield

Hi All
Looks like they have had a rocket up there a**e then as I didnt get as good a service as I hoped for the service guys were brillant but things that should have been done before I picked it up werent and it had to travel another 600 hundred miles back to them so I wasnt to happy to say the least .
GS got taken over by the synter group so they must have changed a few things
cheers
