Group Buy - Performance Re-Maps @ Strathearn Engineering |
|
To celebrate our becoming a site sponsor, we are pleased to announce our first deal to you.
We are doing a special deal on performance re-maps for the months of April, and May. Although, specifically on this forum for the Disco 3 + 4, we are capable of re-mapping:
Freelander 1 2.0 TD4
Freelander 2 2.2 TD4
Discovery 2 TD5
Defender TD5
Defender TDCi (Puma engine)
Discovery 3 + 4 (2.7 TDV6 models only)
Range Rover TD6, Range Rover TDV8 (to 2010MY)
Range Rover Sport 2.7 TDV6, and 3.6 TDV8 (to 2010MY)
Typical gains on the TDV6 are in the region of +50bhp, and +50lb ft
Power graphs can be seen here: http://www.autologic-diagnos.com/media/upl..._EN05w.pdf
All programming is done via the OBD port, and the remap can be removed and re-installed at any time, or if it ever gets overwritten by a software update etc, and takes approx 30 mins to carry out
The normal retail price for a remap is £550 inc VAT
The Forum retail price for a remap is £450 inc VAT
This special group buy price is £400 inc VAT
While your car is here, why not treat it to a K & N air filter at the same time! Helps the engine to breath easier and make the most of the re-map, as well as never needing replaced again.
Fitted for only £50 inc VAT
To allow this deal to go ahead, we need a minimum of 5 vehicles, any models. You dont all need to be here at the same time, we can have you spread out over this month and next, but we need a minimum of 5 orders.
The map can be installed while you wait, as part of a service, or even have a mini-meet at our premises on a Saturday morning, and meet our staff
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask

Bit too far for me, but sounds like a good deal !
Would be interested to hear from any D4 owners after they've had it done ?

Anybody that wants to go up there and fancy a nice but reasonable hotel then the Tormaukin hotel is nice and charged me 50 quid including a great breakfast. Gleneagles is near by as well for the golf lovers.
Does this price include the basic code reader so you can install and remove yourself?

Hi, can anyone give any feedback on improvement in mpg after remap? Have had one done on a previous car giving great torque but extra mpg, no experience of LR remaps!

How are we looking for this going ahead? I see perhaps a couple interested on the RRS forum also. Still one or two bodies away?

I will take a remap
Had my D3 in for belts & pulleys changing on Tuesday, great service and a fantastic price compared to my local dealer.
Many thanks.

Two questions:
1. Where exactly are you? (as in where would I have to travel to get this done at this price)
2. What are the insurance implications of getting this remap done? Do they usually load the premium and if so then by what order of magnitude?
Thanks,
-simon

We are located in Central Scotland, 10 miles south of Perth, and approx. 40 miles north of Edinburgh.
We would always advise telling your insurance company of any modifications to your vehicle. We have had a few customers tell their insurance companies that they have been remapped for 'economy' purposes, with no increase in premiums... It will vary from company to company though, so best bet would be to check with your own insurance firstly

Already bought the remap from strathearn early christmas present to myself!...It is absolutley great.
The difference of performance across the whole range is staggering. Overtaking now is a total doddle, Can get past things almost as quickly as I could in my 525d and that had serious mid range grunt. I don't kick it everywhere so my fuel economy has also gone up by 3-4mpg... which will pay for the map itself within a year given the fuel prices. Towing a big heavy old rover p6 at 60 was a total doddle.
Also one of the best things was that the hesitation when pulling away from the traffic lights has gone.
I would heartily recommend it!

Thanks for the recommendation Graham
And also, just a note to say, we now have enough people to run this Group Buy
All registered users will receive a PM by tomorrow afternoon to get things moving and booked in for the upgrade
If you would still like to have a re-map done, the price is valid for all bookings before the end of May
