Groaning noise when powering through a turn

Has anyone experienced the above issue? I hear a groaning noise from the tranny or center diff when powering through a tight turn... It doesn't *always* happen, but quite often. If I doddle through the turn I don't get the moan & groan, but when I'm more than mid throttle it groans away (no, that's not the better half--she complains when I doddle!)...

Normal? I haven't driven enough D3/LR3's to know.

I've experienced this in my TDV6, and various loan cars.

I thought it may have been a change in the variable turbo veins, just changing the pitch as it scrambles to boost torque?

I don't know if this is the case though? Confused
