Living on the edge of land that is going to potentially be having one of these Eco Cons I am a bit touchy. All building has to be zero carbon emissions by middle of next decade, so people are jumping on the band wagon. Here they will build on 87% green belt and justify it by burning must of Sussex's rubbish to make a bit of electricity, about 2,000 lorry loads per week (which don't count) Build it on the edge of the most congested road in the south (the A27 at Arundel) in an area that is loosing its A&E and maternity facilities.
There is employment here but they are going to build a science park, yet the nearest population have a job tying their own shoe laces up - yes I'm a bit touchy DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

Well, unless we all live in a city these days, we get nothing - no police, local hospitals, medical services, no decent public transport, post offices etc etc... its the way of Rural 'Great' Britain chap.

Back on topic, Mr McLeod is one of those contradictory figures that talks alot about environmental housebuilding, but then spends ages showing buildings made out of re-inforced concrete, as well as those made of straw/wood.
I watch the programme regularly (and dream of running my own housebuild) and more often than not the in car shots have him driving a green oval of some description - I have seen him in a 90, a 110, a D2 (V8) and a D3 - not sure if it is product placement or not.
BTW, I would love a Huf Haus Craig

Didn't he drive a fibre glass sports car in the very first series ....... TVR or something .....
I think all the LR products were tax writedowns from the "farm" .
BTW running a house build is not so much fun .......... wouldn't do it again.......rather buy someone
elses and alter it ....... much less hassle ....or get Huf to do it

I quite enjoy the programme. Some of the projects are very interesting likre the castle in Tuscany and, even more amazing, the ruined castle in N. Yorks which English Heritage seemed to say they would rather see as a plie of rubble than as a restored home as it would be more histrically authentic
Most folk want build a family home while Kev prattles on on about "integrity", "oneness with the environment" and such like.
