GPS/GPRS antenna positioning

Hi

My MY14 HSE is due in only a fortnight now (can't wait!) and one of the things I'm planning on doing over Easter is fitting a BlackVue and also a tracker - one of these http://tinyurl.com/pot6242

The tracker has GPS and a GPRS antennae that need installing. Question is, where's the best place ? (not just from a reception POV but as regards ease of fitting).

My first thought is to put them in the air inlet plenum chamber just in front of the windscreen, which has a plastic cover. But is there a route through to run the cable ? Or is there a better location ?

My antenna on my disco 3 is at the bottom of the passenger pillar just behind the trim which comes off by the screw behind the airbag badge. My antenna is magnetic and it works really well

Can't open your link so not sure what yours are like. Also not sure is a d4 has the same space behind the trim!!

Mine is located at the rear of the drivers side roof rail, it's only a stubby aerial, with the cable dropping down into the rear boot space, as my GSM unit is behind the drivers side boot cubby panel Thumbs Up

Thanks folks.

Hmm, hadn't really thought about putting it in the back Steve. Where did you take the power from ?
