Google Ads trial
Hi all,
There is now a trial in place of Google Ads, which will only be shown to non-logged in users. They will be shown if you are registered but haven't signed in, they will not show as soon as you log in.
Hopefully they will be discreet enough (half way down the home page, at top of forum view and after the first post in a thread) that they won't affect the experience of the site when viewed as a guest.
This is a trial, once the ads kick in properly then they will be monitored for relevance and if they are disruptive.06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Just thought I'd let you know that when I visit on my Android phone and I'm not logged into the website, none fo the pages seem to load first time since the ads were introduced. I click a link, the page tries to load but fails without an error and my browser just shows an empty page. Ii then click refresh and the page loads fine.
Don't know if its the ads causing this or something else but thought I'd let you know just in case.
For your information, I'm on an HTC Desire HD running Android 2.3.5.

Another HTC user here. When browsing without logging in, the Disco at the top of the screen loads, then disappears and the page stays white, nothing else loads.
There is an option to view the site as a desktop site, which seems to work OKMy D3 Build Thread

The site is no longer usable on my mobile.

I tried visiting with out logging in just to see what they look like.....
Nothing appears, except there is a larger gap between the first and second post on every page Experience is a difficult teacher, because she gives the test first and then the lesson afterwards!!!!

They are very unobtrusive and I'm sure it just needs the code tweaking to get it to work with mobiles. They can help out with running costs so I have no objection to them

I get the same blank screen with iPhone 4 but not sure it's related to Google Ads.

where 'Hairy Dan' has the advert I just had the gap and that was a pc using firefox; is it possible the adverts take time to load?Experience is a difficult teacher, because she gives the test first and then the lesson afterwards!!!!

You've probably got an ad blocker running, or Google doesn't have any ads to show viewers in Prague 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Just thought I'd let you know, Martin, that the site is working as normal again on my android phone when not logged in, since you turned off the ads.
I guess it might be a coincidence but sounds like you're looking into it now anyway.
