Goodyear Wranglers any good
In the distant dark past I had these as original equipment on a discovery 1 V8. I am thinking the tread pattern looks much more useful than the road bias Pirelli Scorpion Verde.
Anyone any recent experience with them?
Discovery 4 3.0 HSE 2010 year. I like it a lot. Now with winch 😂

I had these on a Ford Ranger, the Australian one. I remember going sideways in about two inches of snow once, and they were hopeless in the slop. I changed them for Grabber AT2's after the buttock-clenching episode in the snow and they were much better. 30K miles and still had about 10 mills of tread left.

as long as you arent trying to fit that size to your D4
Wranglers were ok in their day, but think there is better around now. Wranglers used to start to "sing" when down to about 3-4mm

Hi,
If you are going off-road the DuraTracs will be much better/useful.....
I fitted Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 255/55 R19 111H tyres to my D4 in November, so far they have been very good, but I have just had a puncture which I don't think is down to the tyres - a big flint when I forded a flood yesterday.

Hi,
I have a set of the Geolanders on my Jimny......
They are great on there....
not thought of using them on the Disco, but they will be on my list when the Duratracs need replacing....
Good call.
The Geolandars seem pretty good in the mud. I've been shooting with them probably half a dozen times in the last few weeks, wet grass slopes, mud etc.. seem to be no problem.

I fitted a new set of wranglers to mine in 255 55 19 last year. Can’t wait for the bloody things to wear out so I can replace them as they are crap, they wander all over the road no matter what you do with tyre pressures etc. It’s also worse on fuel on these than the Cooper ltz all terrains they replaced. Should have stuck to my gut and went with duratracs...

My 2014 D4 came on Wrangler HPs. Although called 'All-Weather', they are labelled as a summer tyre rather than all-season.
They seemed OK, but as they wore down it started tram-lining strongly, following bumps etc (just like my previous D3 did on worn Scorpion Zeros).
I've just fitted Pirelli Scorpion ATRs and happy so far, but road use only. They seem a little noisier, and on first motorway trip it just made 30.0mpg @ 70mph, so not as bad as I feared on fuel

After much research and deliberation, I've gone for Duratracs. I've done 100 miles in them so far and have been quite sure-footed on the tarmac even this morning in minus cold degrees and frost on the road. £115 each, marvellous!

I swapped my wranglers for GG AT3's a few years ago and wouldn't look back.. they last probably twice as long as the wranglers, look better and perform better..
I would never put wranglers on again..Disco4 MY16 SDV6 Landmark Black
