Well, after thinking the D4 was going to be the car that I kept for many years, I have found myself absolutely smitten by the RR Evoque and bought one!
The D4 has done all I asked of it and more, never had a problem and is a fantastic car. But...I've always preferred smaller vehicles and every time I drove my wife's car, I found myself wishing the D4 could corner better and didn't feel so heavy - the D4 can certainly shift for 2.5 tons but I was always aware of those tons.
I bought the D4 following a particularly bad winter that left both my wife and I stranded in our respective cars, not knowing how the other was faring once our mobiles ran out of charge - I decided then that a 4x4 was going to be my next vehicle. To be fair, I had been considering it anyway having driven my Dad's D3 in South Africa on safari several times.
My D4 has just not been used to its full potential - or anything near it. I'm alone in it 90% of the time and it has never really been off-road. I've used the 7 seats once. I've used all of its enormous loading space only a couple of times. However, I had no intention of changing...until I saw an Evoque up close and personal...
I test drove one last weekend and found its road manners very good for an SUV, the size suited me more (I'm only 5ft 6in, so that might have something to do with it but I've also never had anything larger than a 3-series before the D4) and its luxury level was very appealing.
Basically, the Evoque - for me - is more fun to drive and still does all I need from a car. Had I still lived in Africa, I would not hesitate to keep the D4 as I would be off-roading regularly but I just can't bring myself to do so here in the UK. I'm a hot, sunny day in the bush kinda person. That's just me.
I found a new car, Evoque Dynamic Si4 with Lux pack, and did the deal this week and collect it this Saturday. I cannot recall being this excited about getting a new car!
I'm sure I'll miss the D4, it is a fabulous all-rounder.

Sooooo, I'm still a Land Rover fan, just moved on to another LR vehicle. 8) If I could afford both, I would keep the D4 too but I can only have one...

Second dibs on tyres. Enjoy the Evoque. We were torn between one and the d3 but just needed that bit more space

Dude in our street has a very nice looking grey RRS. He also has a FFRR and RRS, both new, plus an R8. Very nice drive to wander past.
PS to any lurking tea leaf, the street on my members map thingie is not quite telling the truth.
Admin - apologies, got carried away there and didn't think about it!
I'll put the For Sale stuff in the correct place. 8)

Yeah, I think the Disco is better suited altho on some large, high profile Developments we get a few RRS, RR and X5/6's in the on-site carpark. Senior Directors and wealthy subbies drive some expensive vehicles.Range Rover Evoque Dynamic Si4 Coupe Lux in Orkney Grey

Don't think it can tow 1 ton! But then I've never towed anything, ever, so 3.5 ton or .5 ton makes no difference to me.
If I towed heavy stuff I'd keep the D4!Range Rover Evoque Dynamic Si4 Coupe Lux in Orkney Grey
