Hi
I'm nearly on the point of signing for a TDV6 'S' Auto but wanted to check I'm getting a good deal...
Deal consists of £3.5k off the list of the car (including auto and metallic) plus the full value of my Freelander Td4 to pay off existing LR Freedom Finance.
Does this sound acceptable or should I be pushing for more?
On the same note the guy is really going out of his way to sell me the car. In fact I have one on loan for 24 hours (sat outside right now) just so I can check it fits into my 'lifestyle'...
Be grateful for any feedback.
Cheers
Dan

Hi Dan,
I guess the thing to keep in mind is that the price of freelanders will be dropping through the floor shortly with the new 06 model which appears to be a significant change due for release.
I did a lot of comparisons between the freelander and disco before buying mine (I was a freelander customer before) and the disco wins hands down in every respect.

you lucky bu**er, all I got AFTER signing the contract for £43k+, was an hour's drive round and a DVD with the owner's manual on it just to remind me of what I haven't got YET
go for it, having seen them 'reposing' and 'full - on' you won't regret it
Cheers,

Sounds fair, ask for a another day it is a valuable car you are buying. The most important thing is to drive it as you would your own. So many people use a demo car just to thrash around in, then they get the wrong impression and can be dissapointed when the real one arrives.

Let me second Martins welcome...
Deal does sound pretty good but push them for everthing you can
Get them to throw in floor mats if they haven't already, every little bit counts. What about trying for Paint Protection? I highly recommend it, apart from the obvious benefit of the protection it makes washing the D3 a lot easier and quicker, with PP the dirt comes off easily and there's no need to polish

Well I finally signed on the line. No more cash off but included mats, side protection strips, load protection mat (the one with deep sides), the paint/interior protection and privacy glass.
I'm happy with the deal which is the main thing I guess! Just have to see how it compares offroad with my other 4x4; a suzuki sj with big suspension lift, mud tyres etc...

Dan - as you are just over the border from me (there's only a valley full of racehorses between us) and as I still haven't done the dreaded deal, can you say who the dealer is? PM me if you don't want to put it on the board.
