God Awful noise when applying parking brake

Got this god awfulnoise when applying the parking brake, then on comes the xmas tree of warning and failure lights along with themessages, and then it wont disengae. Turn it off for an hour and suddenly all is well no warnings no noise all fine. Done it 2 days on trot now...calling land rover tomorrow, wondered if anyone else has had the same issue???

EPB Mate,

Either needs adjusting or replacing or cleaning. Might even be the actuator.

Job for dealer or good local chappy.

If its stuck on use the manual release. If its not stuck on, dont use it and get it sorted asap.

I had this happen last month. Its a bloody loud noise!!!

Check in my gallery for the brake.zip file it has the relevant posts and gtr instructions and info to clear and adjust it yourself if you have the time to save the £200 your dealer may charge you to 'clean' and adjust.

£200 - Wow! Shocked

Had mine sorted by Yeovil yesterday for considerably less than that.

(Has anyone ever mentioned just how good they are at Yeovil? Whistle )

john4090,

yours should be in warranty? I had 3 EPB's done and one 3-hour tow back home (via Land Rover Assist) under warranty on my last model.
