| Glow plug light will not go out Urgent help please..thanks |

Glow plug light recently came on.....remains on when car is locked for some time and eventually goes out....comes on when you unlock without the ignition on......no problems driving or starting.....thought it may be glow plug controller unit or may be not. but I cannot find where it is to change it.....need to know it’s location under the bonnet.....pic would help perhaps. ...car tested with my autel md808pro. No faults showing..... any advice would be most welcome of cause and fix....disco4 2012 model 3 litre stdt.

They are controlled by the HEVAC system from the main ECU, try a hard reset to see if that fixes it. Also check your Oil temp reading, if the sensor has failed this could give you this type of fault.

Thanks so much........Looking at your credentials could you please tell me the exact correct procedure for disconnecting the battery etc times etc. Something says I have to briefly touch the disconnected terminals together and then wait 20 minutes and the reconnect the battery......also how do you check the oil temp,,,,,,I will give it a go tomorrow. ,,Bob

Hi Flack....expert advice.....disconnected battery for 30 minutes and all sorted.....you have renewed my faith in human kind......This site which I just came across whilst searching for answers  is the business especially with experts like you helping others...thank you so much.
