Glasgow 2022

Seems all older diesels will be banned from Glasgow by 2022. Guess that means my MY10 D4. I have no wish to replace her (haven’t yet finished the HP) and I had planned to keep her for a very long time.

I’ll be very upset if I need to get rid of her - there’s nothing else I’d rather be in. Unless Ratcliffe comes up with a decent replacement for the Defender......

I doubt there will be a total ban... more likely to be a charge similar to London to make the council a bit of free cash Rolling Eyes

I would have thought it would only be the city centre?

Although the amount of traffic passing through on the M8 would be a bit of a strange one, its often stationary passing through the city centre, surely they couldn't try and charge for that?

the city only has control of smaller roads, motorways are under national control

I can't remember how long it has been since I drove into Glasgow city centre - even if it's less than 15 miles away. Nothing there now that can't be done on the Subway from the Park-and-Ride. Not even the M8 car-park since the M74 was completed.

Council may find their idea back-fires on them.
