Just back from a couple of days in Philly and the Jersey Shore. Drove up to Philly from DC on Thursday afternoon and then headed down to Cape May on the beach on Saturday morning. After spending a night at Cape May headed home to DC.
Total miles travelled 378 (just over 600klm) and how long did it take, actual driving time? Well according to my Navigation system it took 13.25 hours. That is a whopping 28mph(45kph) average speed. people in Oz go through school zones quicker than that!
The sad thing is that most of this is done on freeways and A roads and there were no roadworks or accidents.
I now really appreciate the open roads of Oz and the fantastic beaches we have that don't cost $6-00 each per day to visit. Take the road less traveled. Hi Wayne,
That must have been frustrating.
You are welcome to come home anytime.

I also feel sorry for the Brits in that they can only go Greenlaning over the back fence where we can actually go and do proper four wheel driving and not stuck to Green lanes.

Hi Guys,
I think we will be home by the end of next year, that will be 4 years away and I think that will do us.
We have plans then to hitch up the D3 and take off for 6-9 months. I will run over the wife's laptop on the way out the drive, may even put her mobile on top of it first! Take the road less traveled.
