GGS setting
Grass Gravel Snow, now I reckon this assists in gaining traction from standing/slow starts & manouvers only
Don't reckon it serves any extra purpose when on the move eg 'A' roads/motorways at 50/60/70mph.
Or .... am I wrong ?
Does it effect extra control at these increased speeds ?I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

Using GGS only on the snowy & slushy stuff, TR off on the faster cleared stuff. Saying that usually forget to switch GGS off and haven't noticed any problems on the cleared stuff.

only thing I've noticed is that whilst you can turn off GGS on the move, you dont get the real throttle response back until selecting neutral, and then drive again. (well I didnt on mine)

Hmmm...I used to use GGS almost daily to go down the dirt/gravel road to the place where I was staying. If I left it on when I crossed over to tarmac, I couldn't seem to get the car to go much past 40-45 mph, without having to floor it and really send the revs up.
Is this something to be concerned about? 55-Reg Java Black SE, Unlocked SatNav (via Wiggs and Bodsy), Nudge Bar/Driving Lamps/RAI, Front & Rear Lamp Guards, RLD Sump Plate, RLD spare wheel protector

I can usually get GGS to cancel on the move by letting go of the accelerator pedal for a few seconds. I'm guessing it's a safety mechanism to stop 2" of accelerator travel suddenly meaning 4000rpm instead of 1500...that could be quite a surge.Dr. Ian Malcolm:

I'd just popped out & thought I'd put this to the test, so was in normal mode on dual carriageway, 60MPH, 5th gear (auto hadn't got to the 6th gear switchover point) so aboiut 2,300 RPM, switched to GGS and the throttle dropped right down to about 1400 and a lot more foot movement to get it to actually accelerate.
Switched it back to normal and about a second later, the rev went back to where they should be Bodsys Brake Bible

Used it today in anger, down a lane to walk the dogs instead of parking in the town, tried to do a 3 pointer in 12" of fresh snow on top of 8" of compacted stuff! Ended up reversing out. Praise the gods for MTRs!!!

Seems to imply that in GGS (in high range) as well as the throttle response and gearing changing, there are differences in the ways the diffs will work (locking sooner) and perhaps DSC will engage quicker too.
