We use it at road speeds, it's gentle throttle, can't compare to without it but it works brilliantly

I'd just popped out & thought I'd put this to the test, so was in normal mode on dual carriageway, 60MPH, 5th gear (auto hadn't got to the 6th gear switchover point) so aboiut 2,300 RPM, switched to GGS and the throttle dropped right down to about 1400 and a lot more foot movement to get it to actually accelerate.

Switched it back to normal and about a second later, the rev went back to where they should be Thumbs Up

Tried a similar test with mine, and yes with it's also immediate.

Tried this again with mine, and as long as I'm actually accelerating, the GGS doesn't cut out even 15 seconds after switching it off. Release the accelerator for a few seconds, and then it releases and normal throttle response resumes.
Edit : Forgot to mention I was testing in the 15-25MPH range, not highway speeds.

Personally I reckon that's a sensible way of operating.
You don't want the throttle response changing whilst in use.
Thumbs Up

my experience over last few days, come off a treated road on to a side road, slow down approaching the untreated side road, foot off accelarator and as you turn in, I put if over to GGS whilst in H, then when you come to treated area, just flick off GGS whilst putting your foot gently on the gas, you do feel the pick up quite quickly Thumbs Up

Turned GGS off for the first time in 3 days today for 30 seconds or so and the D3 felt like a sportscar Shocked
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

I use GGS regulary these days and to be honest I tend to forget to switch it off too. I noticed when heaving the 4x4 info screen on that the diff locks (I have one in the rear axle too) will lock frequently.
As soon as you touch the throttle and in straight line they seem to lock. And sometimes if I park the car they lock too.

came accross this old video:

As I do not have the nav screen - I haven't seen when the central diff is locking on mine d3. Would it lock even in Normal mode (not GGS) when trying to move on an icy surface when only one wheel has grip (something like they;ve tested on the video towards the end of it)?

Yes it would lock up if needed. It just 'pre-loads' when set to GGS so it can lock faster / is more sensitive.
