Unnecessary quote removed

That add is a little misleading.

They are not as easy to fit as they say. Front lights have to be removed and front bumper partialy un screwed.
When you remove the old ones most of your plastic clips will either break or relax so will need replacing.Theres a knack to getting the old clips out which can not be explained in text only shown. The 09 Parts are a completely different Plastic which holds the paint far easier than the old black pp ones.

Slightly off topic, but when I collected my D3 the first thing we did on arrival at home was remove the hideous silicone sh!t they put all over the interior!

I use Cif cleaner. you can buy it in wipes (similar to baby wipes) that seems to remove all the excess polish marks and makes it loook better

Chris

PS

I wouldn't recommend you use Cif wipes on babies!!! Very Happy

I've been using a trim sealant product from Ultima on other vehicles, and have just applied it to the black parts on the LR3.

http://www.autopia-carcare.com/ult-7012-120.html

It provides a nice semi-matt finish, without any wet or greasy feel, and has excellent lasting properties (Months rather than weeks)

You can also buff it as it dries, if you want a higher gloss finish.

Contains UV protection, which stops the sun fading the black trim to grey - and this has worked really well on my VW, which gets left outside 24x7 - so I have great hopes for the LR3.

Very very different approach to Armorall etc etc, as this takes you away from a weekly trim treatment, and that wet/greasy look/feel.

For tires, apply a couple of coats of the sealant, until you get the level of shine you like - last very well and there is no splatter when you drive away! Thumbs Up

Tried most chemicals going on mine overthe years and as somebody said - you end up covering up rather than returning to clean and new.

In the end I used a bug splat sponge and some warm water with car shampoo in it. well wetted and scrubbed like hell. Certainly restored to like new, just missing a few bits from bramble and green lane rash.

Not looking forward to the MY09 arches - hey-ho.

Mine were very grey, I used Auto Glym rubber & vinyl care, then the next day applied Meguirs trim detailer. Came up like new.

Also used a clay bar over the entire car which got out loads of toxins. Thumbs Up

Tried the WD40, put it onto cloth and started to wipe, oh s Censored t thought the mouldings were melting they as they seemed to go soft and the cloth was very black, carried on with more rags and WD40, eventually stopped getting loads of black of and the mouldings became clean and not sticky. They now look great, it would appear that the WD40 strips all the old products off and back to the original finish. Would recomend using WD40 Thumbs Up

Where's Barry Scott ...

I agree with Black Wow or Chemical Guys VRT dressing works for me.....

For removing wax residue from black plastics, I have Wax Blaster....works quite well...
was recommended to me by Tim from Clean Your Car.

Extra virgin olive oil works very well but a little expensive.
