How do you get to the boot lid switch? |
|
The switch to open my boot seems to be faulty. The boot opens fine if I use the key fob, but if I use the switch on the boot lid handle, nothing happens.
Before I book it in at the dealers, I thought I'd check that its not just a loose connection or something simple. I've taken the 4 screws out of the bottom edge of the door but can't see any other fasteners kkeeping the handle on.
What else do I need to unfasten to get to the switch? The car's still under warranty, so unless its a quick and easy job, I'll just leave it to the dealers to sort it out. MY2022 D5 HSE D300 - with extra nice bits added

You have to remove the lower trim from the interior of the upper tailgate, it takes a fair bit of effort and you think something is going to break, but doesn't This will reveal 3 IIRC 10mm bolt heads in recesses in the frame. with those out and the other 4 (star drive), at the lower tailgate edge, the whole rear shroud comes away. there are connections in the shroud and at the top of the tailgate. The switch can be replaced on its own with a RRS bit, but if its under warranty, why are you bothering?
