They must have had a plug or a door seal missing for it to fill like that ...Me and others here have been in bonnet depth water for fairly prolonged periods on numerous occasions without incident.21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

The trick is to maintain a minimum speed while wading, as soon as you stop with water level above doors sills you'll be in serious trouble...
Here my 50 cents,
i was on tarmac (pretty sure that no hidden obstacles were on the way), Low gear selected (3rd) and suspension in super extended mode via additional lifting ECU. Top of the bonnet was near 120 cm.
Looking at the 2 cars on the edge i was thinking those were parked, so the wade appear not so deep... in the reality those cars were floating
Deepest point just under the bridge.
After that 3 or 4 kgs of dry leaves has been removed from radiators bay, ingested from front grille
In any case no water inside at all, but i don't want to repeat this thrill - Easy-Lift suspension module 4.0
