I'm sure it's been asked before, but I'm struggling to find it, so apologies if it's somewhere obvious.
My 2005 Disco 3, TDV6, auto is due a gearbox oil change. I'm wondering what forum users consider to be the best oil to use and what if any additives are recommended. Car is at about 135K now and the change is still good, but I want to get it done before problems show up.
Any help much appreciated.
Cheers, Darren

I would not recommend Dr Tranny in a good working gearbox.
One of the things it does is react with the seals causing them to expand and seal better, on a worn gearbox this is a good thing but the moment you put it in you limit the life of the gearbox.
I would also recomend a gearbox flush rather than an oil change it will replace all of the oil in gearbox, cooler and lines not just whats in the sump.
There are plenty of places doing this or theres a guide on the site on how to do a diy flush
