Mark.................
The day and date are not fixed in stone!
However this thread was started......Thu Apr 29 2010.....
So we bit the bullet,so to speak and asked Gordon (4-tech), what was is best date availible for him.
If we cannot get enough interest, on the date, maybe another date could be arranged, however i think we should let the date stand for another week, incase peeps that originaly showed an interest are away or still considering................
Hope that sounds sensible, and fair.

OK. Can you either send me a PM or add a post on here if the 15th is a cert and I'll try to book the time off work. Cheers.

As far as i know the 15th is a cert providing we can get the minimum of 4 takers. We need 1 more to guarantee it but hopefully tomorow i will have another 2 so should have an answer by tomorow night. unless there are anymore takers on here in which case we will have the minimum

Had mine done at the weekend at Slindon and it had made a massive difference to the gearbox, smoother, quiet and no lag. The odd thing is that the economy has improved as well, I know it is early days but I did a long trip the next day and I reckon it was easily 10% better.

Cheers Countrywide for the note. Hoping for similiar results myself as the syptoms sound the same - noisy, far from smooth gearchange and ecomony has dropped too.
Not expecting magic, but the megaflush seems to achieve good results

To be honest it was a bit like magic, the difference was instant. Could be a combination of the flush and gearbox reset, but I had the flush done first and then the gearbox reset a couple of hours later. The gearbox was already 100% better after just the flush.

£60 for the correct spec oil, and less than an hours work to double flush and refil. Yes it's a double flush and refil, not a megaflush, but it cured my symptoms immediately and I too got all those fantastic results decribed above, smoother, more efficient, no judder etc. They tell you that double flush only changes 40% of the fluid but this can't be true as more than 40% came out with each draining!
Save your money. There's not so much about these days. It's really easy if you're not changing the filter. There are plenty of instructions on here for 'how to'. Alternatively if you don't do the dirty hands thing, get your independant guy to do it for you. With an hours labour on top you'll still be saving! D3 TDV6 HSE 2008 Buckingham Blue (current)

I`ve no objection to you butting in on this thread and you are, of course, entitled to your opinion. However, as someone with more than a little experience in this can I ask you if you would normally drain, say, just half your engine oil and then top up with new oil?
You will save some money (in the short term) compared with my service, however I have specialized machinery to carry this work out which carries a significant investment. My service changes 97% of the fluid, moreover the customer can watch and see exactly what is happening. Doing it in this way maximizes both the auto box life and the life of the new fluid ie: it is not being contaminated/mixed with old fluid that has already lost some of its friction modifying properties, the remaining old fluid becomes the lowest common denominator and `drags` the new down to its level in a very short time.
Back on thread, I`ll be there on the 15th, probably late AM. I carry enough fluid for seven flushes so I need to know if there will be more than that to do so I can pack more! Thanks everyone!
