Can you get to the seals and megatronic unit with the gearbox in place? Not sure I could lift gearbox out on my own.An honorable defeat is better than a dishonorable victory.” ― Millard Fillmore

You won't lift it, however the transfer case can be split away and that's not exactly light either. Mechatronic unit is easily accessed and removed. I use the same method as Pete K for flushing / oil change with the addition of compressed air to clear lines and speed things up a bit.yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Yes you can change the square seal and 4 tubes, but again, if your gearbox has major problems, you are probably wasting your money.

Would I get fault codes for problems with the gearbox?
Otherwise I am going to struggle to diagnose what the issue is. TC, seals, magthingy or?
As you have probably guessed, this is a whole new world for me. Especially diagnosing the problem. So all help is most gratefully received. An honorable defeat is better than a dishonorable victory.” ― Millard Fillmore

That is positive then, I have no fault codes so it looks to be the TC again.

Ultimately all you are buying is time and the only certain long term cure is replacement TC, new shaft bushes and seals..
It was asked further u but is this seriously a DIY job? I knew Dr Tranny is only a mask of the issue that ultimately means a new TC but thanks for the more in depth version. If i'm going to the lengths of a new TC and seals etc what else should I be inspecting on/in the gearbox? Or should i be looking for an entire replacement do you think?
Think my mind is now moved off the oil/ filter & pan change in favor of saving up! Where am i going to find the best supplier of the parts needed?

Simply changing the seal is not the cure of the fault, it is a symptom of wear on the shaft bush/bearing that causes side play of the shaft that causes the seal to fail, that causes the drop in oil pressure to the clutches and ultimately causes the clutch plates to wear due to slip and debri to contaminate the oil, it’s a domino knock on effect, you have got to stop the first domino falling over .It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

My advice to anyone in this situation is to take it to a reputable specialist that is recommended by members on this site before anything is done, not all ZF franchised agencies are recommended put politely just like LR some do not come up to standard. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
