Got a wiring diagram. Am I right in thinking Fuse 30E 10amps in the engine compartment is in charge of this module?

Checked fuse 30 - multimeter read 12v.
Checked for power to gear shift connector. Multimeter read 12v battery cable and 12v ignition cable.

So why does my gear shift module not rise up? It rises up with a direct 9v battery and also the solenoid works with a direct 9v battery.

What do you guys think is the problem?

Did you only resolder the x2 1ohm resistors? or all the other components?

Soldered x2 1ohms resistors as you suggested. made no difference. nothing lights up, nothing raises, nothing changes. gearbox fault light on dash.

I believe that it is the transistor (circled) that needs replacing for illumination and green ring.
It is a seriously tiny thing though.

You could possibly have a look at this chap. He fixed my sealed for life headlamp on my Defender which saved me a fortune!

It’s a bit back street, but he says he does loads of these repairs.

I've seen you can buy a new unit non genuine for £140. Does anyone know if it needs programming?

It seems that you have some other problem ...
Maybe it's not the selector but something else ...

Just in case anyone wanted an update. I purchase a new Chinese GSM online for under £200. It came preprogrammed so plug and play. Fitted it in 15 minutes. Back up and running as it should.
