Gear Selector Knob back light
Hey All
New to D4 so probably a stupid question but should the P R N D S be back lit? As in the selected one is red but at night the rest are dark, is this normal?

The problem was a cost save exercise which caused a problem with the electronics durability for the LED drivers. If it's working, I believe there was a software fix. However it was around the XXV anniversary models in 2014.
If it's under warranty then they should replace it.1972 Range Rover Classic 2 door V8

Mine is intermittent (2014 XXV) sometimes when the dash lights are dimmed it works but not when on full.
I read it was a penny pinching exercise too and some guy on here said he was going to find out the component that needed replacing don't know what came of that.
Maybe it just needs a heatsink on it but I would have no problem removing the part - SMT or through hole, but might be better to buy a later one on eBay.
Something else to add to my list.In today's world, if you contribute something, you don't contribute enough. If you contribute nothing, you receive everything.
I did ask, but the person involved didn't have the information for me. It's a transistor on the circuit board that's marginal in terms of capacity.
I left JLR nearly 2 years ago, so am unable to get any more details sorry.1972 Range Rover Classic 2 door V8

I don't think it ever was a recall issue as it still displays the position of the selector in red. It's more of a customer annoyance.1972 Range Rover Classic 2 door V8

I seem to remember someone on here was saying there was a cheaper option to fix it. Can;t remember what it was. Might have been a used item, which may be no more than a temporary fix. Will see if I can find it.Gary
