Garmin 61 LMT-D
I'm currently fitting a Garmin 61 LMT-D into my D3 as mine does not have the standard LR screen installed. Has anyone managed to upload the LR logo so that it appears on the Garmin satnav screen on start-up? I've read it can be done on older models but cannot seem to get my Garmin to see the logo I've installed on the external SD card (jpg format).
Also, if I want it to switch on when the ignition is turned on, can I splice into the power feed to the accessory socket installed in the front h-section?

Has anyone got any thoughts on this?
Also does anyone know if you can still purchase a D4 satnav surround and what the correct part number is. Everywhere seems to be out of stock, (assuming I have the correct part number - ), and not sure when supplies will be replenished. Even good old fleabay cannot seem to help on this occasion!

Regarding the boot screen, I recall you had to get the picture up in the sat nav memory, press "i" and then choose to use as boot screen logo.
You might also be able to change the vehicle icon to a D3 like this:
Mods:
Front Fogs + Halos
FBH Remote Control
The 1st Ever RRS Modded Grill
Garmin Nuvi + D4 Surround + Reversing Camera.
D4 Steering Wheel.
Rear Boot Spoiler.
Twin Brake Lights.
Wing Mirror Indicator Repeaters.
Long Roof Rails

With regards to the satnav, it seems the Garmin 61 lmt-d only has a Picture Viewer in a hidden menu found by holding the speedo icon. There are no options to do anything with the image, it seems the "i" option is on older satnav models. Similar to the D3 logo. I've downloaded the correct file type however it will not let me drop this into the vehicle icon folder on the satnav from my PC.
It seems Garmin do not want you to alter anything nowadays!

If you have a vehicle folder it should work.
The icon you need is in my Gallery, link to follow.
There may be a limit on vehicles, so delete some you don't use. Mods:

Just an update, today I cut up a D4 satnav trim for my Garmin to sit behind. With some bent metal to hold the satnav at the correct angle it will hold with friction and sit quite nicely, which allows me to remove if required.
I've also run the usb cable into the back of the cubby space and down to the glovebox. Currently I am then plugging into the cigarette lighter socket however intend to splice into a constant feed.
As I'm in the glovebox would it be possible to utilise one of the free relay spaces for a constant feed rather than having to get to the accessory socket cables behind the centre console? I could then fit an inline fuse. If so how do I find out which free relay space will give a constant feed when ignition is turned on?
The other issue I have is that the mini USB connector is on a down-turn right angle which pushes the satnav up out of alignment with the surround. To correct this I have ordered an upturn right angled connector which should then allow the satnav to sit correctly.
Finally I just need to tidy up the plastic trim as it was only a rough cut today.

I've fitted the BC-30 reverse camera, just need to run the cable through the tailgate trim and down to a reverse light for power.
If all good once up and running I'm tempted to install a second camera at the front, just not sure where I would take a constant feed for power.

My new USB cable has arrived but does not work. I believe this is down to the cable being 5-pin but only 4 wires.
Does anyone know where I can get the correct 5-wire USB cable that will power the Garmin satnav as the standard Garmin cable does not allow the satnav to sit pretty (as per my previous update)?

If anyone is interested I approached Garmin regarding changing the splash screen on start-up to show a Land Rover logo as on previous older models. This is Garmin Europe's response:
Quote "Unfortunately you cannot change the splash screen for these devices. It was a feature on previous devices but that has been taken away on these devices and all devices going forwards."
At least this is a definitive answer, although doesn't explain why there is a picture viewer option on the satnav in the hidden menu, but not as a main option to use.

Just to update on this, while I was communicating with Garmin about the splash screen I asked them whether they can supply a USB extension cable that will work. This is their response:
"Unfortunately we do not sell any extension cables like that. You can try a third party one, but I can't guarantee it will work as you expect."
Garmin customer service living up to it's reputation then.
I'm determined to find a solution and so will update if and when I have one.

Did you have any luck finding the right USB cable?
The 61-LMT & BC-30 is my next project, if I can find an installer. Vehicle Multimedia (the installation part of site sponsor Incartec were a strainght no).
